Mýa discography
Mýa attending the Susan G. Komen's 8th Annual Fashion For The Cure event in Hollywood, CA in September 2009.Releases ↙Studio albums 6 ↙Compilation albums 1 ↙Singles 29 ↙Music videos 27 ↙Soundtracks 15 This is the discography of American R&B/pop recording artist and actress Mýa who began her career in the late 1990s. Her discography includes six studio albums, one mixtape, twenty-nine singles—nine as a featured artist, five soundtracks and twenty-seven music videos on her former record labels Interscope and Universal Motown and current record labels Manhattan and Young Empire Music Group. Harrison has charted 12 entries on Billboard's Hot 100 which includes one number single, three Top 10's and eight Top 40's hits. As of October 2008 Harrison has sold 7 million albums worldwide.[1] According to Billboard magazine and Nielsen Soundscan Harrison has sold over 3.2 million albums in the United States alone.[2] In December 2009, Billboard named Mýa the 97th Hot 100 Artists of 2000s.[3]
Mýa's eponymous debut album was released in April 1998, and was certified platinum in the United States.[4] It produced the gold-certified top-ten single "It's All About Me" featuring Sisqó, and two more top-forty hits, "Movin' On" and "My First Night with You".[5]
Her second studio album Fear of Flying (2000), another platinum-seller, was released two years later and enjoyed international chart success, spawning her breakthrough single "Case of the Ex", her biggest solo success to date.[4][5] In 2001, Mýa collaborated alongside Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, and Pink on Missy Elliott's Grammy Award-winning number-one song "Lady Marmalade", a cover version recorded for the soundtrack of the film Moulin Rouge! (2001). The song became a worldwide number-one hit.[5]
The singer's third studio album Moodring was released in July 2003 and eventually certified gold by the RIAA two months later.[4] A minor success in international music markets, it nevertheless produced two singles, including the top-twenty hit "My Love Is Like...Wo".[5] Following a hiatus and a label change to Motown, Mýa's often-delayed fourth studio album, Liberation (2007), received a download-release in Japan only and led to her 2008 Japan-exclusive album Sugar & Spice, released on Manhattan Records. In 2009, she released her first official mixtape on her own independent label Planet 9 and Young Empire Music Group entitled Beauty & The Streets Vol.1.[6][7]
In 2011, Mýa released two new singles. A new track called "Fabulous Life" in Japan. It was the first single lifted from her second Japan studio album titled K.I.S.S.. Stateside, a collaboration with international DJ/producer Cedric Gervais; a song titled "Love Is the Answer". "Love Is the Answer" is the theme song for the NOH8 campaign and appears on Cedric Gervais forthcoming studio album Miamication. K.I.S.S. was released April 20, 2011.[8][9][10][11]
