(Boddaert, 1783)The Spot-breasted Woodpecker (Colaptes punctigula) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is found in South America in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela; also eastern Panama of Central America. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
