Religions: Christianity: Roman Catholicism, followed by Protestants and Eastern Orthodoxs, estimated total at 80%. The rest belong to other religions: little Muslim community, and some adherents of Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism.
Languages: French and Guianese Creole French are the most widely spoken languages. There are also several native languages such as Arawak and Carib and Hakka Chinese and Javanese.[1] The official language, like for all overseas departments and territories of France, is French.
