Nagalapuram (Telugu: నాగలాపురం) is a village and a Mandal in Chittoor district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

Geography
Nagalapuram is located at 13°24′00″N 79°47′00″E / 13.4000°N 79.7833°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 64 meters (213 feet).
History
Nagalapuram, is a small town 70 km south east of Tirupati. This village was designed during Sri Krishnadevaraya reign in the memory of his mother. The town has a very famous temple of Vedanarayana swamy.

Vedanarayana Swamy Temple
Temple reflects the vijayanagara architectural style Vedanarayana swamy idol facing west. Temple has got 4 big gali gopuralu. The sanctum sanctorium has Vedanarayana swamy with his consorts sridevi and bhoodevi on either side. This is a Matysa Avatar of Vishnu, who saved the four vedas from Somakudu and returned to Brahma.
Annual Festival
Temple brahmostavam comes on Shukla Dwadasi, Trayodasi and Chaturdasi of Phalguni masam (telugu calendar). Temple architecture is done in such a way that during these three days, the sun rays fall on the main deity feet, navel and fore head between 1800 hrs and 1815 hrs respectively.
Temple Management
The temple is under TTD. There is daily TTD bus service from Tirumala to Nagalapuram and other temples.
History
This temple town is built at the time of Srikrishna Deva Raya Regime on remembrance of his mother Nagala Devi. Hence it became Nagalapuram.
