Chamchamal

Chamchamal (Arabic جمجمال, Kurdish: Çemçemall چه‌مچه‌ماڵ) is a Kurdish city located to the east of Kirkuk and west of Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The city's population of 200,000 is relatively young.

Chamchamal is the most ancient place where there is a record of wheat being grown. Traces of wheat production, dating from 700.000 years ago, have been discovered in Charmoo, a village near Chamchamal.
