The Danish Folketing election of 1943 was held on 23 March 1943, except on the Faroe Islands where the election was held on 3 May. It was the first election during the German occupation, and although many people feared how the Germans might react to the election, the event took place peacefully.^[1] The voter turnout was at 89.5%, the highest of any Danish parliamentary election, and along with the Landsting election of the same year the election became a demonstration against the occupation. After the elections, leading German newspapers expressed disappointment and indignation with the lack of political evolution among the Danish voters.^[1]

The Communist Party of Denmark was banned since 1941 and could not participate in these elections.
