In 2005 Mehamn Airport had 10,895 passengers and is currently operated by Avinor. Located on Nordkinn Peninsula, it is the northernmost airport in Continental Europe.
The airport is served by Widerøe with Dash 8 aircraft connecting the community to Tromsø, Hammerfest, Vadsø, Kirkenes, and other communities in Finnmark. The routes are operated on public service obligation with the Norwegian Ministry of Transportation and Communication.

- On 11 March 1982 a Widerøe Flight 933 with Twin Otter crashed into the sea[2] on approach to Mehamn Airport during flight from Berlevåg Airport, killing all on board. Despite controversies regarding the cause of the crash, clear-air turbulence over Mehamn Fjord was determined as the course of the collison.[2]

The airport is located 1.5 km from town. There are no buses to the airport, but taxis and car rental is available.
