(1985)"Overground" is a song written and recorded by British rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was co-produced with Mike Hedges and included on The Thorn EP. The song originally appeared on the Banshees' debut album The Scream in 1978. The Thorn version of Overground was later included in the 2004 box set Downside Up.
In its original version, "Overground" was presented as a post-punk song which matches the musical style of The Scream. Siouxsie and the Banshees re-recorded the track with elaborate, lush orchestral instrumentation with a flamenco acoustic guitar for its inclusion on the four-track The Thorn EP.
"Overground" was released as a single with "Placebo Effect", another track appearing on The Thorn, as its B-side. It peaked at number forty-seven on the UK singles chart.
