Route description
Route 105 begins at an intersection with NY 106 in North Bellmore. It heads eastward, heading through downtown as Jerusalem Avenue. There are intersections with local roads as the highway heads eastward, passing a small park along the way. Route 105 leaves North Bellmore for Wantagh and crosses over the Wantagh Parkway. The hamlet of North Wantagh is large, with many houses, commercial buildings, schools, and parks surrounding the 2-lane highway.[4]
Deep into North Wantagh, there is an interchange with NY 135 (the Seaford – Oyster Bay Expressway). Route 105 continues into Seaford and terminates at an intersection near Massapequa at NY 107.[4]
This route is not to be confused with another Jerusalem Avenue, which runs north-to-south, from Hicksville to Levittown (where it becomes Gardiners Avenue).
History
NY 105 was assigned to its current alignment ca. 1932 and has not been altered since.[1][2]
Major intersections
The entire route is in Nassau County.
