Owyhee, Oregon

Owyhee, Oregon is a populated place in Malheur County, Oregon 14 miles southeast of Vale, Oregon on the Owyhee River about a mile and a half southwest of where it enters the Snake River at 2,199 feet (670 m) above sea level.

In 1860, nearby the site of Owyhee was the site of a temporary U. S. Army post at the mouth of the Owyhee River called Camp Owyhee, or Camp Owyhee River.
