State Highway 17 (SH-17) is a four-lane highway from Nayandahalli, Bangalore to V.V. Puram in Mysore that serves as one of the prime state highways of Karnataka. In Bangalore, it is known as Mysore Road—while in Mysore, it is known as Bangalore Road. The highway has a total length of 149 kilometres (93 mi). It was built and maintained by the Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited and inaugurated in 2003. The highway passes through the cities of Ramanagara, Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya and Srirangapatna (Seringapattinam), before entering Mysore. The road is a dual carriageway and has breaks in the divider for U-turns. A trip along the highway takes two hours minimum to reach Mysore from Bangalore. It passes over the Cauvery (Kaveri) river and enters the Srirangpatna island through the Periyapatna Bridge.
