Biography
Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi was born in the Saran district of Bihar, India.[1] He migrated with his family to Tanzania, where he underwent elementary schooling.[1] In 1972 he went to Qom for religious studies and in 1982 he returned to India.[1]
In 1983 he migrated with his family to Vancouver, and by 1991 he completed his Master of Arts degree in History (with no prior undergraduate degree), at Simon Fraser University.[1] He then moved to Ontario in the same year, and since 1996[1] he has been the Imam of the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto.
