Midong District (Pinyin: Mǐdōng Qū Uyghur: میدونگ رايونى‎, ULY: Midong Rayoni, UPNY: Midong Rayoni^?) is a county within the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and is under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ürümqi City.

In 2007, the former Dongshan District (244 km², population of 100,000 (2002 Census)) was merged with the Miquan (formerly part of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture) to form the Midong district. It now contains 3408 km² and a population of 296,000.^[1]
