The Detroit Hoops are a team of the American Basketball Association which began play in 2008. Based in the actual city of Detroit, the Hoops play their home games at Detroit Edison Public School Academy.

The Hoops will be competing for talent and fans with the Premier Basketball League's Detroit Panthers, (which started play as an ABA team).
