History
ColossalCon was started by Atomic Eye, a small anime store in Lakewood, Ohio, in 2002. It began as a one day convention in Strongsville, Ohio. In 2003, it became a three day convention and moved to the Holiday Inn in Independence, which was its home for four of the next five years. In 2008, the convention moved Beachwood to accommodate its growing attendance. In 2009, the convention moved to the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky, OH, in order to once again accommodate its growth.[1]
