Ushicon was an annual anime convention that was held in Austin, Texas from 2002 to 2006. The convention was traditionally held in late January. On February 10, 2006 a notice on the Ushicon website indicated that the convention was ceasing operations due to changes in anime fandom.fact|date=May 2008

Mascot

The official mascot for the convention is Ushiko. Ushiko was initially designed by Jason Balduf, and has since been rendered by numerous fan and professional anime artists.
