Perth, Western AustraliaNationality Australian Political party Liberal Party of Australia Christopher John "Chris" Back (born 11 February 1950) is an Australian politician. He has been a Liberal member of the Australian Senate since 2009.
Back contested the state seat of Alfred Cove for the Liberal Party at the 2008 Western Australian election, narrowly failing to unseat sitting independent Janet Woollard. On 12 March 2009, he was sworn in as a Senator for Western Australia to replace Chris Ellison,[1] who had resigned in January.
Back was born in Perth. Before entering the Senate, he was a member of the Liberal Party State Council in Western Australia from 2007 to 2009.
