Chernigovsky District (Russian: Черни́говский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[2] district (raion) of Primorsky Krai, Russia; one of the twenty-two in the krai. It is located in the southwestern portion of the krai. The area of the district is 1,840.4 square kilometers (710.6 sq mi).^[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Chernigovka. District's population: 34,816 (2010 est.);^[5] 39,554 (2002 Census);^[4] 45,782 (1989 Census).^[8] Population of Chernigovka accounts for 48.4% of the district's population.^[4]
