Posyet

Posyet (Russian: Посьет, also "Possiette" and "Possiet") is an ice-free port and urban-type settlement (since 1943) on the Possiet Bay, in Khasansky District, Primorsky Krai, Russia. It is named after the Russian navigator Constantine Possiet (1819—1899). Population: 3,000 (2002 Census). It is one of the southernmost settlements in Russia.

Established on April 11, 1860 as Novgorodskiy-Posyet. The first name Novgorodskiy was given after the bay named by Muravyov-Amursky expedition. It's the oldest settlement in Primorsky Krai.

Largest enterprise JSC "Commercial port of Posyet" is owned by Mechel. It's in possession of three mooring lines of 'gravitational' type 450m in length.
