Lazovsky District ( _ru. Лазо́вский райо́н) is situated in the south-east of
Primorsky Krai ,Russia on the eastern slopes of theSikhote-Alin mountain range and its southern spurs. The district's administrative center, Lazo, is located km to mi|324 fromVladivostok . The largest settlement of district isPreobrazheniye .There is no
railway s in the territory of the district. Communication with the outer world is by auto and sea transport. District's population: 17,521 (2002 Census); 21,311 (1989 Census).Most of the population is involved in the coastal and
oceanic fishing ,mariculture development, and fish and sea products processing. JSC "Preobrazhenskaya Trawling Fleet Base" and "Valentin Fish Factory" are located in the district.Among the district's mineral deposits are
tin andgold deposits. The thermalmineral water s are of great importance. "Chistovodnoye ",Primorsky Krai 's specialized hospital, where illness oflocomotor apparatus andcutaneous diseases are treated, is located on theradon springs. Two lakes withmedical mud are also known in the district. Closeness to the sea and availability of the medical springs and mud provides fine opportunities for tourism development in the district. 24.8% of the district's territory is occupied by the "Lazovsky Nature Preserve ".
