Christopher James Gossage Robinson (10 June 1903 - 24 February 1986) was Bishop of Lucknow[1] from 1947 to 1962, when he was translated to Bombay where he served until his retirement in 1970. Born into a distinguished family [2] and educated at Marlborough College and Christ's College, Cambridge [3], he was Ordained in 1929. His first post was as Curate at St Marys Portsea, after which he emigrated to India, where he was a leading light within the Cambridge Mission to Delhi (Vicar of St James, Delhi[4]; then of St Thomas New Delhi[5]) until his elevation to the episcopate.
