John Harding (bishop)

John Harding (1805-1874) was the second Bishop of Bombay from 1852 to 1869 ["A history of the Church of England in India since the early days of the East India Company" Chatterton, E:London, SPCK, 1924] . Educated at Westminster School and Worcester College, Oxford, he was Rector of St Andrew, Holborn and St Ann Blackfriars from 1836-51 when he ascended to the Episcopate [The Times, Friday, Jan 02, 1852; pg. 6; Issue 21001; col C India"-new Bishop of Bombay"] .
