Below is a partial list of minor league baseball players in the Cleveland Indians system.

Scott Barnes

Scott Michael Barnes (born September 5, 1987 in Springfield, Massachusetts), is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization. In July 2009, he was traded by the San Francisco Giants to the Indians for Ryan Garko.^[1]

Barnes attended Cathedral High School in Springfield, Massachusetts and St. John's University in New York City before being drafted by the San Francisco Giants.

In 2007 while at St. John's, Barnes was named to the first team all-Big East Conference team.^[2]

In 2009, Barnes helped the Akron Aeros win the 2009 Eastern League Championship Series.

The Indians purchased Barnes' contract on November 18, 2011.

Eric Wesley Berger (born April 22, 1986 in Roseville, California), is an American professional baseball player. A pitcher, Berger plays in the Cleveland Indians organization of Major League Baseball. He has yet to make his MLB debut.

Berger, who is Jewish, attended Woodcreek High School (Roseville, California) and University of Arizona before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians.^[3] Berger has played in minor league baseball with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Lake County Captains, and Kinston Indians in 2008, and 2009 through July 27, 2010 with the Akron Aeros. Berger currently is a member of the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.

Juan Habisail Díaz (born December 12, 1988 in Bani, Dominican Republic) is an Dominican professional baseball shortstop in the Cleveland Indians organization. He signed as a non-drafted free agent on April 20, 2006 by Seattle Mariners scouts Patrick Guerrero and Bob Engle.

Professional career

Seattle Mariners

In 2006, his first professional season, Díaz batted .191 in 178 at-bats for the Dominican Summer League Mariners. He drove in 23 runs and had an on-base percentage of .324. He played shortstop for 44 of 47 games and 3 games at third base.

Díaz began the 2007 season with the Class-A High Desert Mavericks appearing in six games. He was transferred to the Peoria Mariners on May 24 and then the Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on June 4. He hit .333 with five runs scored, six doubles and 11 RBIs in 22 games in May. He had season-high 10-game hitting streak, hitting .375 from June 21–30. Díaz took part in the Mariners 2007 Arizona Fall League playing for the Peoria Javelinas.

He spent the 2008 season with Wisconsin, appearing in 122 games. He recorded five hit streaks of five or more game, including a season-high seven-game hit streak from June 19–25. He recorded 22 multi-hit games, including four season-high three-hit games. Díaz participated in the Mariners Advance Development League in Peoria.^[4]

Díaz split the 2009 season with the Mavericks and the Peoria Mariners. During his time with Peoria he compiled three hits in three at-bats with one home run. With the Mavericks he hit .311 with 101 hits, four home runs and 29 RBIs in 84 games. He was a California League Mid-Season All-Star in his best offensive season to date.

Cleveland Indians

On June 26, 2010 Díaz was traded to the Cleveland Indians along with Ezequiel Carrera for Russell Branyan.

The Indians purchased Díaz's contract on November 18, 2011.

José Antonio Flores (born June 4, 1989 in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela) is a professional baseball pitcher currently with the Cleveland Indians organization.

Flores began his career with the Indians organization in 2007. On December 9, 2010, he was acquired by the Seattle Mariners in the Rule 5 draft.^[5] He was returned to the Indians prior to the season.^[6]

Jason Knapp

Jason C. Knapp (born August 31, 1990) is a minor league baseball pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization. Currently, he plays for the Rookie-level Arizona League Indians.

Knapp was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2nd round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. In 2009, he was traded to the Indians along with Carlos Carrasco, Lou Marson and Jason Donald for Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco.

Coming into the 2010 season, Knapp was rated the 64th best prospect in baseball by Baseball America.

Beau Mills

Beau Bradley Mills (born August 15, 1986) is an American professional baseball first basemen in the Cleveland Indians organization. He is the son of Brad Mills, a former MLB player and current manager of the Houston Astros.

He was drafted prior to going to college by the Boston Red Sox in the 44th round of the 2004 MLB Draft.

Before being selected by the Cleveland Indians with the 13th overall pick in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft, Mills attended Golden West High School (Visalia, California), Lewis-Clark State College, and Fresno State.

Mills spent the 2008 season with the Kinston Indians. He was named the Carolina League MVP after batting .293/.373/.506 with 21 home runs and 90 RBI.

Mills spent the 2009 season with the Akron Aeros of the AA Eastern League. He batted .267/.308/.417 with 14 home runs and 33 doubles while driving in 83 runs.

Mills again spent a full season with the Aeros in 2010+. He was among the league leaders in RBI and doubles. While his overall production (.241/.312/.377) dropped for the second straight season, he posted a career low strikeout total.

Mills started the season on the DL, then got off to a slow start with AA Akron. However, he batted over .300 in June and July. After being named Eastern League player of the week, he earned a promotion to the AAA Columbus Clippers.

As a Lake County Captain in 2009, Pérez was named to the South Atlantic League all-star team.

Pérez is currently playing for the Advanced-A Kinston Indians.

Steve Wright

Steve Wright (born August 30, 1984 in Torrance, California) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization.

Wright attended Valley View High School (Moreno Valley, California) and University of Hawaii before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians. Since 2007, Wright has played in minor league baseball with the Lake County Captains, Kinston Indians, and Akron Aeros.

With the 2008 Akron Aeros, Wright pitched a career-high 75.1 innings.
