Padstow is currently an interchange in non-peak between 'all stations' trains to East Hills and 'limited stops' trains to Campelltown and Macarthur. Padstow is served mostly by 4 'all-stations' trains per hour and 4 'limited stops' trains via the airport, with some additional trains during peak hourscite web| work=CityRail | title=CityRail Timetables | url=http://www.cityrail.info/timetable/index.jsp| accessdate=22 April | accessyear=2007] .
Under the Clearways Project, it is proposed that 4 tracks will pass through Padstow as a result of quadruplication between Kingsgrove and Revesby by 2010cite web|work=Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation| title=Kingsgrove-Revsby Quadruplication|url=http://www.tidc.nsw.gov.au/ViewSite.aspx?PageID=469| accessdate=21 January| accessyear=2007] . Local (all-stations) trains travelling via the Airport line will stop at Padstow (terminating at Revesby), and express trains to Campbelltown will bypass the station (except late at night).Fact|date=July 2007
