Sherrodsville is a village in Carroll County, Ohio, United States. The population was 316 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Canton–Massillon Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Geography

Sherrodsville is located at coor dms|40|29|41|N|81|14|40|W|city (40.494728, -81.244479)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there are 316 people, 122 households, and 90 families residing in the village. The population density is 999.7 people per square mile (381.3/km²). There are 129 housing units at an average density of 408.1/sq mi (155.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.15% White, 0.32% African American, 0.32% Asian, 0.32% from other races, and 1.90% from two or more races. 0.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 122 households out of which 28.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.9% are married couples living together, 14.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% are non-families. 23.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.59 and the average family size is 3.03.

In the village the population is spread out with 26.3% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 89.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.9 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $28,036, and the median income for a family is $31,786. Males have a median income of $27,014 versus $17,813 for females. The per capita income for the village is $12,896. 19.1% of the population and 15.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 33.3% of those under the age of 18 and 15.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
