Geography
Ocean Pines is located at 38°23′1″N 75°9′10″W / 38.38361°N 75.15278°W (38.383692, -75.152755)[1].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 9.4 square miles (24 km2), of which, 6.7 square miles (17 km2) of it is land and 2.7 square miles (7.0 km2) of it (29.0%) is water.
Demographics

The population density was 1,758.5 people per square mile (597.7/km²). There were 8,870 housing units at an average density of 1323.9/sq mi (511.1/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.5% White, 2.4% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.9% Asian, 0.7% from other races, and 1.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.4% of the population.
There were 5,471 households out of which 10.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were non-families. 25.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.14 and the average family size was 2.50.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 16.8% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 15.4% from 25 to 44, 32.0% from 45 to 64, and 34.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 57.6 years. For every 100 females there were 92.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.3 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $49,707, and the median income for a family was $54,905. Males had a median income of $36,705 versus $27,793 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $26,144. About 4.5% of families and 6.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 13.4% of those under age 18 and 1.1% of those age 65 or over.
