Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Area

The Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area, also known as Greater Birmingham, is a metropolitan area composed of 7 counties in central Alabama. The area is also part of the Birmingham-Hoover-Cullman, AL CSA. The population of the metro area as of the 2007 census estimate was 1,108,210. It is the 48th largest metropolitan area in the United States according to the 2000 census.
