The drama ran for 120 minutes (including advert breaks) in the UK, and 93 minutes without interruption in the United States. It marked one of the first leading roles for Felicity Jones, and one of the productions that helped bring JJ Feild into the spotlight. Unusual for a Jane Austen novel, this is only the second filmed adaptation, the first having been made in the 1980s.

A portion of the aria "Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen" from Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is heard when Catherine and Isabella attend the opera. The rest of the music is performed by The Pemberley Players.[1] [2]
