The United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma (in case citations, N.D. Okla. or N.D. Ok.) is the Federal district court for a portion of the state of Oklahoma.

Appeals from the Northern District of Oklahoma are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit).

The court's jurisdiction comprises the following counties: Craig, Creek, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa, and Washington. It is based in Tulsa. The current judges in the Northern District include Judge Claire Eagan, Judge Terence Kern, Judge James H. Payne and Judge Gregory Frizzell.

The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. The U.S. Attorney is David E. O'Meilia.

  • As of January 4, 2010, a vacancy exists in the Northern District of Oklahoma due to Judge Terence C. Kern's decision to assume senior status. On February 2, 2011, President Obama nominated Arvo Mikkanen to the vacancy. His nomination is currently pending before the United States Senate.
