Remetea (Hungarian: Magyarremete) is a commune in Bihor County, west of Romania. It is composed of five villages: Drăgoteni, Meziad, Petreasa, Remetea and Şoimuş.

General information

The nearest town is Beiuş, around 10 kilometers to the south.

Population

The commune has a population of 3513 inhabitants.

According to the 2002 census the population structure is:

• Hungarians 80.58%
• Romanians 16.52%
• Gypsies 2.79 %
• Others 0.11 %
