Route description

M-156 northern terminus, Clayton

Ohio State Route 108 crosses into Michigan just south of Morenci where it becomes M-156. From there the road continues north a short distance to Main Street in Morenci where it turns west for a few blocks before resuming its northerly course out of town. Most of the land that M-156 travels adjacent to is agricultural in nature. As the road continues north it runs just east of Lake Hudson and the Lake Hudson State Recreation Area before terminating at a junction with M-34 just south of Clayton.

History

M-156 has existed in its current location since 1931. Prior to 1978, the road traversed the sharper corners of the Lime Creek Highway and Morey Highway north of North Morenci before the installation of the sweeping curves that exist today.[1]

Major intersections

The entire highway is in Lenawee County.
