"Other People's Lives" is a 1997 7" single by American indie rock band Modest Mouse. The single features "Other People's Lives" on the A-side, with "Grey Ice Water" on the B-side. Both songs later appeared on the Building Nothing Out of Something compilation and were left unreleased elsewhere. The first pressing was on clear bright blue vinyl. Up Records claims this was a mispressing, and the subsequent pressings were on the correct dark seafoam green marbled vinyl. Oddly, the correct green vinyl edition is rarer than the mispressed blue vinyl.[citation needed]

Release date

There are conflicting reports on the release date of this single, both from Up Records'[1] official webpage. The main page on Modest Mouse claims that the single was released in 1997 but the direct link for the 7" claims it was released in 1998. On the majority of unofficial sites it is reported as being released in 1998[2].
