Transmitter
Along with the transmitter on Three Rock Mountain, Clermont is one of two sites used by RTÉast Networks for technological trials. The two sites have previously carried the test RTÉ DAB Multiplex and are currently carrying the tests for Digital terrestrial television in Ireland[3]. The transmitter covers most of the north-east of Ireland, with usable quality FM signals reaching Dublin and much of Northern Ireland.
Due to the site's proximity to Northern Ireland, neither of the 5 national ROI radio stations were able to receive frequencies in their allocated band ranges, meaning all 5 stations are significantly out-of-band.
