The colón (₡) is the currency of two Central American nations:
- Costa Rica (ISO 4217 three-letter currency code: CRC); see Costa Rican colón
- El Salvador (ISO 4217: SVC) – since 2001 used in parallel with the United States dollar; see dollarization, El Salvadoran colón
The Costa Rican colón is divided into 100 céntimos; the El Salvadoran colón is divided into 100 centavos.
In Spanish, the plural form is colones, but it is frequently rendered in English as colons (pronounced like colognes).
