Motipur is a town and a notified area in Muzaffarpur district in the Indian state of Bihar.

Location
Motipur is located 102 kilometres (63 mi) north of Patna, 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Muzaffarpur & 54 kilometres (34 mi) south of Motihari. National Highway 28 passes through Motipur. The nearest airport is Patna Airport.

This town has a river Budhi Gandak flowing aside by it.Budhi Gandak is one of the branch of Gandak river.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Motipur had a population of 21,933. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Motipur has an average literacy rate of 43%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 52%, and female literacy is 33%. In Motipur, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age.
