Charity Fundraiser hosted by "Friends with f.a.i.t.h"

The school held a charity fundraiser on April 25, 2007, in the memory of Constable Davis Ahlowalia, a police officer who was killed in a tragic car accident along with two former Maple High School students. Nearly $5000 were raised. Vice principal Mr. Foti, along with two other teachers, volunteered to have their heads shaven if the $5,000 goal was met. All of the money raised was donated to Friends of the Poor, a charity organization that Constable Davis Ahlowalia was part of. On Wednesday, April 23, 2008, Friends with f.a.i.t.h. held another charity event at the school; they raised funds for Alzheimer's Research. All proceeds from this fundraiser were donated to the Alzheimer’s Association of Canada. This 2nd Annual Variety Night consisted of an exceptional show put on by the students of Maple High School along with a guest speaker. For 2009, Friends with f.a.i.t.h. will be raising funds for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Dramatic Productions

In 2007 "Blood Wedding" was a production put on by the schools drama department. The cast and crew competed in the Sears Ontario Drama Festival and moved on to perform at the regional level at the Hart House Theatre. They did not qualify for the next level however. The production won an award for "Cast Ensemble".

In 2008, the drama department decided to put on two shows, Leo and Mmmbeth, a completely student run production. Both competed in the Sears Ontario Drama Festival. Mmmbeth, did not move on but won numerous awards at the district level. Leo moved on to the final round and had a chance to showcase its production in Perth, Ontario.

In 2009, Maple High produced its first student written play, "Hayte's Cafe and the Children's Treasure Chest of Charity Donation Drive". Winning an award of excellence for "Cast Ensemble".

2010 Maple High's grade 12 class produced Staff Room a two act play by Joan Burrows. For the Sears Festival Maple High produced "Return to Ithaca" by former Maple High teacher Michail Vitopoulos.
