History
It was started in 1984 by Pastor Peter Tan-Chi, began an evangelistic home Bible study in Brookside Subdivision, Cainta, Rizal. Only three couples attended that first Bible study, but as they began to invite their friends, who then invited their own friends and families, the Bible study grew and moved to San Juan City. A core group of 40 people (businessmen, professionals, and their families) emerged from these Bible studies. Later on, they met at the Asian Institute of Management for their first Sunday worship service and launched "Christ’s Commission Fellowship" in August 1984.
Since then, CCF’s continuous growth has caused its worship services to move from place to place. From AIM, services moved to Greenbelt in Makati City, then to the Conference Room of the Philippine International Convention Center, and then to the PICC Plenary Hall. Worshippers then split in order to attend at two different venues, one in CCF Sucat, and one at the Valle Verde Country Club.
In 1997, CCF settled at St. Francis Square in Ortigas Center. CCF is now thriving church of approximately 25,000 members, with worship and bible study centers in major cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, then it has an international outreach, one in Singapore. It is a unique fellowship composed of and led by lay men and women, all of whom still share God’s love and the Gospel in the style of the first century Christians, in small groups, in their homes, communities, and workplaces. It is an indigenous church, which operates without foreign affiliation or financial assistance. The vision that the Lord gave to the leaders of CCF is to establish a church patterned after that of the New Testament[3].
On August 30, 2009, CCF celebrated its 25th Anniversary of the church and God’s faithfulness, attended with a thousands of members from different CCF outreaches worldwide. It was held at Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City.[4]
