"No Llores" (Don't Cry) was the first single released by Gloria Estefan for her eleventh studio album 90 Millas. The single was released to U.S. radio-stations on June 18, 2007. The song features prominent Latin music performers such as guitarists Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano, Sheila E. playing the timbales, and Arturo Sandoval on trumpet (uncredited).

Song history

The single was released commercially on June 18, 2007 on the iTunes digital music store. The song has strong Latin rhythms and is a danzon, a popular dance form accompanied by Cuban music.

A remix version of the song in a hip-hop style is available on the internet, which features rapper Pitbull. a remix by Wisin & Yandel is also available. A salsa version of the song was released as a bonus track on the Limited Edition of the album on Mexico and as a promotional single.

The song was used to promote the telephone company AT&T in the United States.

Gloria received a Billboard Latin Music Award for the song in the category "Top Tropical Airplay Of The Year - Female".

Music video

A music video for the song was directed by Estefan's husband Emilio Estefan Jr. and was shot in New York City on April 4, 2007. The video premiered on Univision's Primer Impacto on June 27, 2007.

The video features Gloria singing with the same Panama hat that she wears on the single cover, and was filmed in sepia tones. Footage of the performing musicians appears throughout the video, including Jose Feliciano playing the guitar, Sheila E. at the timbales, and Arturo Sandoval on trumpet.

Chart performance

"No Llores" debuted on the Billboard charts on the Latin Pop Airplay's chart in the Top 30, and also appeared on the "Hot Latin Tropical/Salsa Airplay" chart, reaching the top spot in its third week.

The song debuted at number thirty-nine on the "Hot Latin Tracks" chart, and reached number one on the chart the week of August 30. The song debuted at the "Hot Latin Regional Mexican Airplay" chart at number thirty-four in its first week and peaked at number twenty-one.

At the end of 2007, No Llores was listed on the Billboard Year-End Charts under "Hot Tropical Songs Of The Year" at #15.
