The Free Your Mind award went to Anton Abele for his single-handed campaign against street violence.
Presenters on the night included Joss Stone, model Lily Cole, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton who was romantically linked with Pussycat Doll Nicole Sherzinger from that night.
