Former members: Aaron Jasinski, Chris AngelovskiThe Remix Artist Collective (RAC) is a group of international members who create re-interpretative rock/electronica/dance remixes for musical artists. RAC strives to maintain a style of remixing that strays from the "club mix" archetype, creating new incarnations of songs that stem from the original structure, but expand on their genre and musical arrangement. RAC mixes typically feature a unique blend of hip-hop and vintage drum machine samples, analog synthesizers, melodic hooks, and original performed instrumentation by the remix artists themselves. "Unlike many electronic remixes, which are commonly technical and precise, RAC mixes embody a unique aesthetic based around emotion and nuance, an almost intangible warmth and innate playfulness."[1]

History
The Remix Artist Collective was created in January, 2007 by André Allen Anjos. Later, Anjos recruited Aaron Jasinksi (Seattle), Chris Angelovski aka "Crookram" (The Netherlands), and Andrew Maury (New York City). As of late 2010 Karl Kling has most recently joined RAC, primarily joining André onstage at RAC DJ shows. RAC's first release was "Sleeping Lessons (RAC Mix)" for The Shins, earning the remix a spot as a B-Side on the single release for "Australia." The mix, along with several other projects garnered interest among bands like Tokyo Police Club, Bloc Party, and Ra Ra Riot. Since the end of 2007, RAC has been building an empire of indie remix favorites and a quickly growing, word-of-mouth following. Recently, RAC has landed remixes with bands such as Kings of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Edward Sharpe, Hockey, Surfer Blood, Delorean, and Washed Out.[1]

In addition to the mention and posting of several remixes on high-traffic music blog/news sites such as Pitchfork Media, I Guess I'm Floating, Brooklyn Vegan and The Music Slut, RAC has received more formal recognition in a full length feature article for the St. Louis Riverfront Times, an online interview with Stereo Subversion, and a free-mp3, official release through Stereogum (Stereogum Presents RAC Vol.1). RAC's Sega Vs. Nintendo EP spurred hundred's of blog postings around the world and a hyped headline from the massive gaming site Kotaku.[2][3]
RAC most recently released RAC Vol. 2, featuring artists such as Delorean, Surfer Blood, Suckers, Washed Out, Ruby Coast, Phantogram, and Phoenix on March 4, 2011. Blogs such as Stereogum, Indie Shuffle, Pretty Much Amazing, and RCRDLBL previewed individual tracks preceding the week of release.

André Allen Anjos - Portland, Oregon, U.S. / Portugal
André Allen Anjos is a young music artist with multiple years' experience in remixing, producing, and song-writing. Originally from Porto, Portugal, André now resides in the USA. He is the founder and coordinator of the Remix Artist Collective. André is currently RAC's most prolific remix artist, creating a majority of the tracks himself.[4] His signature remixing sound is in large part a result of some of his equipment: Notably, a 1982 Roland Juno-60 and 1973 Univox MiniKorg. André has also been known to manipulate analog tape machines to achieve effects, and primarily works with Ableton Live and Digidesign Pro Tools.[1] Outside of remixing, André has done work creating original music content for HBO’s Entourage, and is now an active, principal member of the indie-electronica band, The Pragmatic.[5]
Andrew Maury - New York City, New York, U.S.
Andrew Maury is a 25-year-old producer/engineer/mixer. After two years touring the US as a front-of-house sound engineer for Ra Ra Riot supporting their debut album, The Rhumb Line, Andrew most recently co-produced and engineered the band’s second album, The Orchard", slated to release August 24, 2010.
Andrew has worked alongside Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, producer of Tegan and Sara's recent album, Sainthood, at the world famous Sound City Studios in LA. He has also worked with talents such as The Static Jacks, The House Floor, Kisses, Princeton, The Collectable Few, and Mathieu Santos.
Karl Kling - Portland, Oregon, U.S.
While officially the newest addition to RAC, 23-year-old songwriter/producer/DJ Karl Kling is no new face to the Collective. Karl has contributed significantly to RAC creations over the past four years. He has appeared both vocally and instrumentally on multiple remixes/covers and is a co-founder with André of the electronic band The Pragmatic. With the addition of RACDJs to the RAC lineup, André and Karl will begin touring North and South America starting fall 2010.
