RAC strives to maintain a style of remixing that strays from the "club mix" archetype, creating new incarnations of songs that stem from the original structure, but expand on their genre and musical arrangement. RAC mixes typically feature a unique blend of hip-hop drum samples, analog synthesizers, melodic hooks, and original performed instrumentation by the remix artists themselves. History

The Remix Artist Collective was created in January, 2007 by André Allen Anjos. Later, Anjos recruited Aaron Jasinksi (Seattle), Chris Angelovski aka "Crookram" (The Netherlands), and most recently, Andrew Maury (New York). RAC's first release was "Sleeping Lessons (RAC Mix)" for The Shins, earning the remix a spot as a B-Side on the single release for "Australia"." The mix, along with several other projects garnered interest among bands like Tokyo Police Club, Bloc Party, and Ra Ra Riot. Since the end of 2007, RAC has been building an empire of indie remix favorites and a quickly growing, word-of-mouth following. Members

André Allen Anjos - USA / Portugal

André Allen Anjos is a young music artist with multiple years experience in remixing, producing, and song-writing. Originally from Porto, Portugal, André now resides in the USA. He is the founder and coordinator of the Remix Artist Collective. André is currently RAC's most prolific remix artist, creating a majority of the tracks himself. [http://theremixcompany.co.uk/?page_id=5 who? - RAC ] ] His signature remixing sound is in large part a result of some of his equipment: Notably, a 1982 Roland Juno-60 and 1973 Univox MiniKorg. André has also been known to manipulate analog tape machines to achieve effects, and primarily works with Steinberg Cubase SX and Digidesign Pro Tools. Outside of remixing, André has done work creating original music content for HBO’s "Entourage," and is now an active, principle member of the indie-electronica band, [http://myspace.com/thepragmatic The Pragmatic] .

Andrew Maury - New York City

[http://andrewmaury.net Andrew Maury] is a 22 year old multi-versed musician, producer, and member of the Remix Artist Collective. He is a recent graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, now living in New York City to begin his career in the music/media industry. He has 14 years experience as a guitarist/drummer/bassist, played guitar in Syracuse rock band [http://myspace.com/magichourmusic Magic Hour] , and has recently immersed himself in the convergence of indie rock and creative original-sample-based remixing. Crookram - The Netherlands

Chris Angelovski, aka "Crookram" is a musical producer who has been making tracks since 1992. His musical background is founded on hip-hop, but his love for sample-based music and seventies vibes are evident in the tracks he makes. Musical interests range from 60s folk music, to classic jazz, to modern electronica. He recently released his own [http://theremixcompany.co.uk/?p=69 downtempo album] , and is currently laying the finishing touches on a hip-hop album featuring various MC’s from all over the world.

Aaron Jasinski - Seattle

Aaron Jasinski is a visual and music artist with ten years experience of song writing and production. His styles and interest range from techno to indie rock. He gained some notoriety through winning multiple contest at Acidplanet.com as well as a series of releases on the web label www.kahvi.org. Recently he has also created music and sound design for the casual game market with clients such as Microsoft and Oberon Games.
