North Hudson is a village in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,463 at the 2000 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.5 km2), of which, 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2) of it is land and 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2) of it (37.91%) is water.

Wisconsin Highway 35 serves as a main route in the community.

North Hudson is located at 44°59′43″N 92°45′18″W / 44.995367°N 92.754966°W / 44.995367; -92.754966 (44.995367, -92.754966).[3] Less specifically, it is immediately north of the city of Hudson.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 3,463 people, 1,315 households, and 962 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,642.7 people per square mile (1,020.7/km2). There were 1,358 housing units at an average density of 1,036.3 per square mile (400.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.11% White, 0.29% African American, 0.38% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.12% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.49% of the population.

There were 1,315 households out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.0% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.8% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.06.

In the village the population was spread out with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 34.5% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 102.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.3 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $60,848, and the median income for a family was $70,938. Males had a median income of $46,970 versus $30,313 for females. The per capita income for the village was $26,540. About 1.3% of families and 1.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.9% of those under age 18 and 5.7% of those age 65 or over.

Government

North Hudson has its own Police Department, North Hudson Police Department. Fire and EMS services are provided through the City of Hudson by Hudson Fire Department and St. Croix EMS & Rescue.
