The Shire of Maffra was a Local Government Area located about convert|20|km|mi|0 north-northwest of Sale, the major regional centre in central Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of convert|4167.43|km2|sqmi|1, and existed from 1875 until 1994.

History

Maffra was first incorporated as a shire in October 1875. On 2 December 1994, the Shire was abolished, and merged with Shire of Alberton, Shire of Avon, City of Sale and most of Shire of Rosedale into the Shire of Wellington.
