The Shire of Bright was a Local Government Area located about convert|280|km|mi|0 east-northeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of convert|3108|km2|sqmi|1, and existed from 1862 until 1994.

History

Bright was first incorporated as a district on 8 August 1862, and became a shire on 29 June 1866. On 18 November 1994, the Shire was abolished, and was reunited with the Shire of Myrtleford and various surrounding districts to form the Alpine Shire.
