History:

GAAPweb was launched in June 1998 by Cliff Olsson and Mark Wainwright. After juggling a job each, working nights on the website and ploughing all their savings into their new venture GAAPweb was created.

At first, in order to get people to advertise, it had to be free. From these humble beginnings a market leader has emerged and the company has seen increasing profits year-on-year.

In August 2005 GAAPweb was acquired by The Trinity Mirror Group. [cite web
