Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2), of which, 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2) of it is land and 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2) of it (55.51%) is water.
Demographics
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 244 people, 113 households, and 87 families residing in the town. The population density was 233.4 people per square mile (89.7/km²). There were 506 housing units at an average density of 484.1 per square mile (186.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.77% White, 0.41% Asian, and 0.82% from two or more races.
There were 113 households out of which 23.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.3% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.0% were non-families. 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 2.47.
In the town the population was spread out with 17.2% under the age of 18, 3.3% from 18 to 24, 19.3% from 25 to 44, 37.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $49,250, and the median income for a family was $50,096. Males had a median income of $30,417 versus $27,125 for females. The per capita income for the town was $23,092. About 4.2% of families and 4.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under the age of eighteen and 6.9% of those sixty five or over.
