United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 26.1km² (10.1 mi²). 25.6 km² (9.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (1.79%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 21,523 people, 7,604 households, and 5,976 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 840.3/km² (2,176.0/mi²). There were 8,083 housing units at an average density of 315.6/km² (817.2/mi²). The average household size was 2.83 and the average family size was 3.20.
In the village the population was spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 91.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.6 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $54,766, and the median income for a family was $61,063. Males had a median income of $39,356 versus $29,991 for females. The
per capita income for the village was $21,875. About 3.7% of families and 4.3% of the population were below thepoverty line , including 5.2% of those under age 18 and 5.9% of those age 65 or over.As of 2000, speakers of English as a

Mayor
The Mayor of Royal Palm Beach is currently David A. Lodwick. His term expires in March of 2010. Lodwick has been serving Royal Palm Beach since he was elected Councilman in 1993. He first became Mayor in November 1998. Mayor Lodwick currently serves on the following boards:

* Palm Beach County Metropolitan Planning Organization

The Village of Royal Palm Beach does not have a Public Safety Department. Both Fire and Police services are provided by Palm Beach County. On
March 19 ,1999 , Royal Palm Beach Fire-Rescue merged withPalm Beach County Fire-Rescue .Fire and Rescue Department
Currently,
Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue provides Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services to the citizens of Royal Palm Beach. There are two fire station in RPB: Station 28 and Station 29.
