Carrick is a census-designated place (CDP) in Siskiyou County, California, United States. The population was 156 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Carrick is located at coor dms|41|26|46|N|122|21|48|W|city (41.446118, -122.363368)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 156 people, 56 households, and 38 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,279.3 people per square mile (860.5/km²). There were 67 housing units at an average density of 978.9/sq mi (369.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.03% White, 0.64% African American, 2.56% Native American, 1.92% from other races, and 3.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.62% of the population.

There were 56 households out of which 44.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.6% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 23.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.37.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 32.7% under the age of 18, 3.8% from 18 to 24, 32.1% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 88.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.9 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $22,986, and the median income for a family was $23,819. Males had a median income of $11,250 versus $11,750 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $13,082. About 28.9% of families and 18.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.4% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those sixty five or over.

Politics

In the state legislature Carrick is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Sam Aanestad, and in the 2nd Assembly District, represented by Republican Doug LaMalfa.
