Citrusville, Cypress County,[1] Florida is a fictional Everglades town in the Marvel Universe. It appears most frequently in stories related to Man-Thing, and was first shown in Adventure into Fear #11. It was created by Steve Gerber and Rich Buckler. Much of its importance lies in that it is physically near what is termed as the Nexus of All Realities.

While the majority of the town is depicted as very conservative, to the point of running riot in the high school[2], it is the home of the Cult of Zhered-Na, and its leader, Joshua Kale, and his grandchildren, Jennifer and Andy. The high school newspaper is called the Quill.

Developer F.A. Schist intended to build an airport in the community[3], but his real motivation was the close proximity of La Hacienda, which houses the Fountain of Youth[4].

The public library is a small shack, but has a large collection of occult writings in its archives.

For a time, it was also the home of Richard Rory, who made contact with Man-Wolf through the local radio station he had bought.[5] The station was soon destroyed and Rory left the area, apparently for good.

The town actually vanished into a rift at one point. The original hole was in the shape of a six-fingered hand, which was also the sign and the name of a cult that has plagued the Marvel mystical community for some time. The hole was first noted by the Avengers, who wisely called in for supernatural help. A makeshift team of Defenders, including Doctor Strange and Devil-Slayer, would first fight a possessed Man-Thing, then enter into a highly dangerous mystical rift in order to rescue the citizens.

The Deflyte family operates for a time as the richest family in town, before their dealings with Man-Thing lead them to their deaths.[6]

Citrusville plays an important role in the 2008-2009 limited series, Marvel Zombies 3. Some Citrusville citizens are killed by an alternate universe zombie Deadpool. Government agencies contain the zombie outbreak, with behind-the-scenes help from the Man-Thing. During the series, it is revealed that the S.H.I.E.L.D. sub-agency, A.R.M.O.R., monitors Citrusville and the nexus as part of its mission to police alternate realities.
