United States Census Bureau , the CDP has a total area of 3.0km² (1.2 mi²). 3.0 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it (1.72%) is water.Demographics
As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 8,622 people, 2,830 households, and 2,046 families residing in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 2,920.2/km² (7,562.4/mi²). There were 2,933 housing units at an average density of 993.4/km² (2,572.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 41.57% White, 12.62% Black or African American, 0.81% Native American, 16.32% Asian, 0.42% Pacific Islander, 22.04% from other races, and 6.23% from two or more races. 40.90% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.There were 2,830 households out of which 40.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.6% were married couples living together, 15.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% were non-families. 20.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.05 and the average family size was 3.56.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 29.5% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 33.2% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.9 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $39,722, and the median income for a family was $45,852. Males had a median income of $33,000 versus $28,494 for females. The
